lNovember 5, 2006 was the last time Samantha was reported being seen.
Seventeen days later, a friend of hers called Samantha's sister Jennifer. She told Jennifer that she needed to check on Samantha. This according to her Mother. Jennifer made a police report and that seems to be where we are now. Samantha's boyfriend, 47 year old Walt Shockley, was the last to see her. EVER article, including video from WYFF said she left with out taking anything. I noticed in the Index-Journal of Greenwood,SC , Ken Maple reporting that Walt Shockley said she grabbed her purse and left. Chief Thomas in a recent interview said he did not know why it was reported she took nothing, that she did take her purse. Last week I was contacted by someone from another site asking if the resemblances of Jane Doe in Chicago and Samantha had been reported. I passed it along and have seen on the Web Sleuths site that they had reported it also. How or why Samantha would be in Chicago is a mystery in itself, but possible. Just the same, I would like for Samantha to be added to any missing adult sites. Hopefully I am doing this right, new to the sight, but many familiar names. Thanks so much! Billie Samantha was 22 years old-----5'4--110lbs--long dyed red hair--hazel eyes Straight A student at Piedmont Tech and wanted to be an Art Teacher. Thanks again Last edited by nanabillie; 01-05-2008 at 08:12 PM.. Reason: left out important info |

Mother desperate to know what happened to her missing daughter
Updated: May 28, 2007 10:00 AM Samantha Smith ![]() CLINTON, SC (WIS) - Twenty-two-year-old Samantha Renee Smith disappeared late last year, and now authorities are out of leads in the search for her. Her mother is pleading for clues to Samantha's whereabouts. "All I want to do is find out where she is, what happened to her." What happened to Samantha Smith is anyone's guess. No one's heard from the 22-year-old in more than six months. Her mother says, "I got a habit of looking at young girls similar to her, thinking, you know, could that be her? When they turn around it's not." And with each passing day her mom Rebia loses hope - any potential light at the end of the tunnel, flickering. "Honestly, it's not looking good." Despite a history of depression, Samantha had a lot to live for according to her mom. Samantha wanted to be an art teacher and loved taking pictures. Those snapshots are especially hard for her mom to look at. "She wanted to do so much." But as leads run dry, Clinton's police are just hoping "somebody out there will recognize her and get her back home where she belongs," says Chief John Thomas. Searches of woods behind the home where Samantha was last seen have turned up nothing. Officials say Samantha lived there with her boyfriend, Walt Shockley. While he isn't considered a suspect, Shockley refused to talk to WIS. Chief Thomas describes him this way, "He's still a person of interest. He will always be a person of interest, until we find her." Whatever happened, good or bad, Samantha's mother just wants to know, making a plea to anyone who might have answers, "Call Clinton Police Department, let them know where she is so we can bring our family back together." Police hope to generate leads by holding a press conference Thursday at 11am. SLED is also assisting in the investigation. http://www.wistv.com/Global/story.asp?s=6561360 |

linton woman disappears, leaving mother searching
Posted: Nov 5, 2007 10:00 PM Updated: Nov 9, 2007 01:32 AM Samantha Renee Smith CLINTON, SC (WIS) - Twenty-three-year-old Samantha Renee Smith seems to have vanished without a trace. WIS News 10's Trey Paul went to Smith's hometown of Clinton, where investigators are still baffled, and a mom still prays for answers. Samantha's mom, Reba Smith, says, "Honest to God I don't know what happened." She has "no idea. It's just like she disappeared off the face of the earth." It's been a year to the day since the now 23-year-old vanished. Her mom says, "Samantha is a great kid. She wants a lot out of life and I want my daughter home." So where could she be? Police say she dealt with depression and had even run away before. But her mom never expected anything like this. "I couldn't believe it was Samantha. For the fact is, Samantha was a bright, smart, intelligent girl. She knew what she wanted out in life and she was going to get it." She wanted to be an art teacher. Police say Samantha was last seen walking on Lela Street. They say a few hours before she and her boyfriend got into an argument at church over religion. They say when she got home, she took off. Chief John Thomas says, "He drives away in another direction. She walks away in another direction ... so she just disappeared." Investigators have no suspects. They ruled out Samantha's boyfriend a year ago. But they're hoping this story will change that. So is Samantha's mom, who isn't giving up hope, "The strength that I've gotten is, I feel like Samantha is giving it to me to keep going and to keep looking." The number for the Clinton Police Department is (864)-833-7512, if you have any information on this case. http://www.wistv.com/Global/story.asp?S=7316768 |

Have any of you ever called just to check on a case? I sure wish someone would. Just to make sure they don't forget about Samantha. Long story, but I can't call. But I am so concerned.
